Life consists of a series of moments that we can never truly get back. These moments, full of laughter, love, and happiness, pass us by so quickly as we move through this spontaneous and beautiful life. This is why it is so important to capture these installments of the many different parts of life that we can later reflect on. After all, reminiscing and remembering our lives as they once were, and looking back into the lives of our ancestors and past generations is what makes us human. Photography helps connect people to each other, helps us remember important life events, and above all, it is a visual reminder of feelings—love, happiness, excitement, and joy. As you have heard a thousand times over, a picture is genuinely worth a thousand words and Alex Clark Photography captures just that—a beautiful story.
Alex Clark is a professional photographer in the San Diego area that we have been lucky enough to work with on a couple of different occasions. Her love for photography started at a young age, as her father and mother captured every waking moment of her early years. In time, Alex realized, as so many strive to do, that she needed to be focusing her time and energy on what she loved to do—to combine her love for photography into a full-time job. But “job” really isn’t the right word. Alex notes,
“The funny thing is that, to me, photography doesn’t seem like a job…it literally fuels my soul and happiness.”
Alex’s photography skills have evolved into a beautiful portfolio of candid, love-filled moments of expecting mothers, family portraits and wedding day celebrations. It’s clear that she loves to find the story—the sentiment in the photographs that reveal, as she elegantly puts it,
“the glow of the simple things in life, the happy moments that are fleeting, and (then) capturing those precious times and putting them in a time capsule…life is meant for living and photographs are the perfect co-pilot to remind you of these life-changing moments.”
Her approach to photography is really beautiful and refreshing, as she incorporates both bright and airy colored hues into her portfolio along with black and white classic portraits. Every photo evokes the adoring feeling a mother has for her unborn child, the immense love parents have for their children, the excitement of a wedding photo, the fragile innocence of a newborn, and the sheer joy in a child’s face.
Alex Clark Photography’s services include maternity, newborns, kids, family, weddings, and lifestyle editorial shoots.

Luckily for us, the girls at Tribe Magazine have had the honor of working with Alex Clark on two separate occasions and are looking forward to working with her again for our very own, Kristin Helms’ upcoming baby shower. (Feature to follow).
Both instances working with Alex Clark have been nothing short of phenomenal. She photographed little Miss Blake’s 1st Birthday Party—article and photographs seen here—and also shot the Tribe Magazine’s fashion editorial—seen here. Alex was extremely professional, yet personable and made us all feel comfortable even though we were totally outside of our comfort zones. She was also amazing at giving direction, stimulating and capturing candid emotion, and had such a keen and artistic eye for both photo-shoots. Needless to say, she was one of the easiest and most talented photographers to work with and we can’t wait to work with her again.
Look for an article this month showcasing more of her photography and various shops that helped make the upcoming baby shower so special.
